If your are interested in joining the club, or would simply like to find out more information about us, then please contact our Club Secretary Chris Ketteringham.

Interested individuals are encouraged to come along at least once to our pub meetings in The King's Arms  to get to know our members, and find out more about our walking and social activities.  In addition we also recommend that prospective members come on one of our day walks before committing themselves to a weekend away.

Prospective members normally come on a couple of walks before joining the club.  Membership does, of course, offer benefits.  For example, members have to opportunity to reserve places on trips before the field is opened to non-members.  On many trips this makes no difference, since there are usually a couple of free places anyway.  But on the more popular trips, such as the Christmas party, demand is very high and membership has its benefits!

It is recognized that hill walking is an activity with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in this activity should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.

In addition,  each new member is strongly encouraged to acquire navigation skills so at least they can read a map.
